ISLAMABAD, Nov 17: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday between Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and the British Council (BC) on cooperation and promotion of culture.

The MoU was signed in the Ministry of Culture by British High Commissioner Mark Lyall Grant on behalf of the British Council and Culture Secretary Jalil Abbas.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Minister for Culture Dr G.G. Jamal, PNCA director-general and Director (British Council) Pakistan Sue Beaumont.

The main objective of the said MoU is to promote mutual cooperation in culture and provide training on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.

The MoU envisages to enhance friendly bilateral relations between the UK and Pakistan in the field of culture.

This MoU will come into operation from November 17, and will remain valid for a period of three years.

Upon expiry of that period, this MoU will be automatically renewed for further period of three years.—Online
