Dave Mohammed seeks more Test opportunities

LAHORE, Nov 16: West Indies spinner Dave Mohammed is hoping to be given more opportunities in Test cricket after struggling to force his way into the side since his debut two years ago.

A rarity in a West Indies side long renowned for producing world class pace bowlers, Mohammed improved his reputation with the wicket of Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq in the opening test defeat in Lahore that finished on Tuesday.

“Getting Inzamam's wicket was a big boost to my confidence.

His wicket was special as he is a top bat,” the left-arm bowlersaid on dismissing Inzamam for a duck. “His wicket has helped raise my confidence for the rest of the series,” Mohammed added on Thursday.

“I think I tried hard in the first Test (against Pakistan) as I wanted to be the best bowler on the team after the disappointment of not getting many matches following my debut,” he said.—Reuters
