LAHORE, Nov 16: The Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) claimed late Wednesday to have seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition from a mountain range in front of Rojhan in Rajanpur district.

According to a release issued here on Thursday, the weapons, which had to be used for sabotage activities in the area, were seized during a special operation.

Field security wing commandant Col Mohammad Ali, on the directive of Rangers DG Maj-Gen Husain Mehdi, in a month effort found a clue that a large quantity of ammunition was being shifted to Rojhan from the Balochistan mountain range.

The terrorists’ aim was to use the weapons to hurt hunt-oriented Arab royals and their companies in the area, kidnap Chinese engineers working on Khichi Canal, loot the motorists of Indus Highway and to target the train passing through Rojhan.

The officials recovered hand-grenades, rockets, Kalashnikovs, 7mm rifles, repeaters, rifles mark 4, 30-bore pistols and 32-bore revolvers.
