RAWALPINDI, Nov 16: The 500 immigration staff of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) posted at airports, ports and land routes will soon get a new uniform approved by the federal government, Dawn has learnt.

The decision was taken in view of the fact that the uniform of FIA immigration staff resembled the uniforms being used by customs, Islamabad police and Air Security Force.

“The decision to change the uniform was taken because it resembled the uniforms being used by some other departments and was confusing people,” DG FIA Tariq Perveez said.

He said on a number of occasions the immigration staff had to face the complaints related to the other agencies wearing the almost same uniform.

The FIA DG said a grey-coloured uniform with a Chinese cap had been selected by the interior minister and he would introduce it soon. He said the immigration staff was being trained to behave well towards the people visiting Pakistan and treat them as guests.
