KARACHI, Nov 16: Syed Wahab Kazmi, 66, resident editor of “The Nation Karachi , who died in wee hours on Thursday, was laid to rest in the afternoon in a local graveyard. The funeral prayers were offered at Hira Mosque, Model Colony. Quran Khwani will be held on Saturday at his residence C-13 Sheet No 27, Model Colony between Zuhar and Asr prayers.
The late Mr Kazmi, is survived by a widow, two sons, a daughter and grandchildren to mourn his death, He under went heart surgery on Tuesday afternoon at NICVD and was shifted to ICU where in the late evening he gained consciousness briefly before suffering a brain haemorrhage and died on Thursday morning.
Wahab Kazmi, joined The Nation in late 80s. He was born in UP and got his school and college education in East Pakistan before coming to Karachi. He did his masters in economics from Leeds University, Britain.
PPI adds that Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad and Karchi City Nazim Mustafa Kamal have sent condolence messages to the bereaved family.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan Thursday has condoled with Mr Kazmi’s family. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace and grant courage and patience to his family members to bear this irreparable loss.
City Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal also expressed sorrow and grief over the death of Wahab Kazmi.
In a condolence message to the bereaved family, he praised his services as an economist and business journalist adding that they would always be remembered.
