AJK local bodies poll put off

MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 15: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday decided to postpone the local bodies election for one year. The local government election will now be held in March 2008.

The chief election commissioner has directed the authorities concerned to prepare computerised voters’ list for the poll.

AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attiq Ahmad Khan informed the meeting that political workers were being inducted into the local bodies government to ensure efficiency in its performance.—Online
