ISLAMABAD, Nov 13: Heads of parties in the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy will meet held here on Tuesday to review the political situation in the country with reference to Bajaur and Dargai incidents.
Talking to Dawn, ARD secretary-general Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said the alliance leadership would try to finalise a plan to lodge a strong protest against the Bajaur air strike in which 82 students and their teachers were killed, followed by a suicide attack in Dargai killing 42 army recruits.
He said the ARD believed that the government had put the country into a serious crisis because of its wrong policies, adding that the time had come to make efforts to get the nation rid of the rulers.
Answering a question, Mr Jhagra hoped that the ARD leaders would make some “major and concrete decisions”.
He said the alliance leaders would also try to evolve a plan to counter the government’s move to divide the opposition on various issues, including the controversial Women’s Protection Bill expected to be tabled in the National Assembly during the ongoing session.
ARD chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim will preside over the meeting to be held at the central secretariat of the People's Party Parliamentarians.
