SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 12: An under-trial prisoner reportedly committed suicide at the local prison on Sunday. Resident of Islampura, Manawala, Anwar was jailed after the recovery of 10 grams hashish from his custody.
Authorities said he committed suicide in a bathroom by tying his shalwar (trouser) around his neck. His body was handed over to his heirs who were not ready to believe the official version. B division police are investigating.
SHOT DEAD: A truck driver was shot dead by four highway robbers on Jaranwala road near Quli Mor, some 65km from here in Nankana district, on Sunday. He was identified as Bashir.
