Date for depositing cotton fee extended

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: The ministry of textile has extended the last date for depositing the cotton standardisation fee on bales to November 18 to facilitate the ginners.
An official announcement issued here on Saturday said that the date had been extended for the bales pressed on September 29-30 and during October 2006.
The cotton ginners would be depositing this fee for the first time since its levy under section 15 (1) of the Cotton Standardisation Ordinance 2002, vide SRO No1013 of 2006 issued recently.The fee was levied at the rate of Rs5 per bale of cotton pressed in a ginning factory during a month and ginners were required to deposit it by the 10th of the following month through challans in designated branches of National Bank of Pakistan.
The cotton ginners were advised to send a copy of the paid challans along with their monthly return in Form 'A' to the Pakistan Cotton Standards Institute by November 18.
