KARACHI: International clay exhibition begins today
KARACHI, Nov 9: The Third ASNA Clay Triennial Exhibition, a mega two-week art event, will begin from Nov 10, at the Ahmed Perwaz Gallery at the Arts Council of Pakistan. The event, being organised by ASNA in collaboration with the Arts Council of Pakistan, will continue till Nov 24.
The show will exhibit the work of 53 ceramists from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Spain, Lithuania, Finland, The Netherlands, UK, Canada and Turkey.
They will be displayed in a space specially designed by the country's leading architect Habib Fida Ali.
A two-day international art seminar will be held on Nov 11 and 12 at the National Museum Auditorium. It will present a rare opportunity to artists, art critics, students and enthusiasts to participate in a dialogue with exponents and scholars of ceramic arts.
In their papers and presentations, the visiting ceramists and scholars will share their experiences in the field and a historical perspective of this significant art form in their countries. From Pakistan ceramists and scholars from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad will present papers.
On Nov 13 and 14, workshops will be conducted by ceramists from Pakistan, Spain and Finland. Kumhaar Bazaar of craft pottery will be inaugurated at the ground floor of the Arts Council of Pakistan on Nov 16, by Federal Tourism Minister Nilofar Bakhtiar.
