Mansoor, Nadeem steal limelight

KARACHI, Nov 8: Nadeem Javed hit century as Karachi Port Trust (KPT) were all out for 208 in first innings on the opening day of their three-day Patrons Trophy grade-II match against KESC at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on Wednesday.

KPT won the toss and elected to bat first. Paceman Anwar Ali, a member of Pakistan under-19 World Cup winning team, grabbed three wickets in his opening spell and Mansoor Khan captured two wickets as KPT slumped to 119 for five.

Batting at number six, right-handed Nadeem stood firm under pressure and smashed ten boundaries and four sixes in his two-and half-hour innings of 101.

Off-break bowler Mansoor Khan caused most of the damage with five wickets for 31 runs in 12.2 overs.

In reply, KESC responded by reaching 46 without loss in 15 overs.
