Carolina wins ladies golf title

KARACHI, Nov 8: Carolina Konig who hails from Germany secured 39 points to win the second ladies golf tournament which concluded at the Karachi Golf Club (KGC) the other day.

Participated by 13 ladies mostly from KGC besides DHA and Islamabad Golf Clubs, the 18-hole competition was played on the stableford format.

Kazuyo Arae finished runners up with 35 points, while Farah Waseem who also amassed same score had to be content with third slot after a count-back over the last six holes.

Faakeha Ahmreen claimed the Chip’N Putt competition in the Handicap 27 and below category followed by Durdana Soomro, Lady Captain, KGC.

Samira Tajani topped in the Handicap 28 and above category while Rubina Hai was runners up.

Korean Kim Soon Cheon won the longest drive (210 yds) trophy while closest to the pin award went to Shahida Ismail.
