ISPR releases list of those killed in seminary attack

ISLAMABAD Nov 8: Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) released to press on Wednesday a list of 37 persons killed in Bajaur seminary air strike to negate the earlier reports of majority of them being teenagers.

According to a press release that was released by Information Minister Mohammad Ali Durrani at his news conference, six among the list were Afghan nationals whose ages were neither mentioned by the media nor is mentioned in the said list.

It said: “The persons present in the Madressah compound were busy in militant training and not religious education and they were of the ages 20 years and above.”

It claimed: “Local militants immediately removed and buried the dead bodies without showing them to the media present there.”

Later on, Haji Habibullah of Bajaur agency on the directives of MNA Haroonur Rashid faxed a list of 80 persons to media which he claimed were students and had been killed in the attack.

Certain sections of the press published this list on November 5.

The list given in the press release was claimed to have been verified with the record available with Nadra which reveals that a deliberate attempt is being made to spread disinformation with malicious intent and to hide facts and in reality all the individuals whose ages have been shown below were actually of 20 years and older.
