KARACHI: Declamation contest


KARACHI, Nov 8: Students of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology bagged the trophy in the All Karachi Bilingual Declamation Contest for 2006 held at DHA College for Women on Wednesday.

Students of various city colleges and universities participated in the competition. Khushbakt Shujaat was the chief guest of the event.

In the Urdu declamation contest, Tabish Hashmi of SSUET clinched the first prize, the second and third prizes went to Syed Mohammad Yaqoob of the Institute of Business Administration and Nadia Abdullah of Sir Syed College respectively.

In the English declamation contest, Anam Nadia of the IBA secured the first position whereas Munib Tariq of SSUET was awarded the second prize. According to the decision of panel of judges trophy was awarded to the Sir Syed University.—PPI
