KARACHI: AC judge transferred

KARACHI, Nov 8: The judge of Accountability Court No. 2, Hasan Feroze, has been transferred after the expiry of his three-year term. According to a notification of the federal law, justice and human rights division, the judge has been repatriated to the Sindh High Court.

During his three-year tenure, Judge Hasan Feroze decided as many as 21 corruption references. He also disposed of three references of AC-3 as additional in charge of the court.

The judge announced conviction in 15 cases and acquittals in six cases. The accused convicted by him also included Dr A Q Alvi, former vice chancellor of the Shah Latif University, Khamisu Khan Memon, Hidayatullah Khawaja, Asghar Ali Abbasi, Akbar Ali Abbasi and Pervez Ahmed Dahiri.

Rs112 million was deposited to the national exchequer through the plea bargains approved by the AC-2. — Staff Reporter
