Global piracy
DAKAR, Nov 8: The year 2006 is set to become a record year for counterfeit and pirated products, ranging from fashion accessories to recorded music, Senegal's customs chief told an international forum on piracy on Wednesday.
Armand Jean-Jacques Nanga, director general of Senegal's customs office, told the seminar in Dakar that “in 2004, more than 4,000 captures totalling more than 166 million counterfeit and pirated articles,” mainly of leather goods, cigarettes, games, toys, CDs and DVDs, took place in the world.—AFP
