ISLAMABAD, Nov 7: The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench Tuesday ordered immediate deportation of a Nigerian drug- trafficker and banned his entry to Pakistan for life.
Richard Saya was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force at Islamabad airport for trying to smuggle out 4kg heroin. The district court had sentenced him to a two-year jail and imposed a fine of Rs100,000. The convict challenged the district court’s decision in the LHC Rawalpindi bench.
A two-member bench of the high court, comprising Justice Akhtar Shabbir and Justice Muzzamel Khan, pronounced its judgment on Tuesday, ordering his immediate deportation and banning his entry to Pakistan for life.
Mirza Waqas, the legal advisor for ANF, told the court that Mr. Saya had been proved guilty in the lower court and was sentenced to two years jail besides a fine of Rs100,000.
