Shoaib files appeal against ban

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Nov 7: Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar filed appeal on Tuesday with the Pakistan Cricket Board to review the two-year ban imposed on him by the anti-doping tribunal on Nov 1.

A PCB spokesman said Shoaib handed over the appeal to PCB anti-doping officer Dr Sohail Saleem.

Another fast bowler Mohammad Asif, also served one-year ban by the same doping tribunal, had already filed the appeal on Monday.

It is learnt that Shoaib has hired the services of renowned lawyer Abid Hasan Manto while Asif has the services of lawyer Aftab Gul, who is also a former Test cricketer.
