SUKKUR, Nov 6: The Sukkur bench of the Sindh High Court sent Sanam Jatoi to Darul Amman on Monday after she appealed to the court to protect her from her relatives and those of her husband who had started fighting over the love marriage.

The single bench comprising Justice Zia Pervaiz issued the orders on a petition filed by Ms Sanam through her lawyer Noor Hassan Malik.

Ms Sanam who is resident of Hussain Heesbani village near Naushahro Feroze said in her statement to the court that her relatives and those of her husband started a tribal war after she married Riaz Heesbani of her own free will some three weeks ago and later her relatives seriously injured her husband in an attack.

She said that she felt danger to their lives and appealed to the court to provide her protection until her husband returned from Karachi where he was undergoing treatment for the injuries he suffered in the attack.

The police moved Ms Sanam to Darul Amman under court orders.

She would be handed over to her husband after he was discharged from hospital.

Ms Sanam had fled her home three weeks ago to marry Mr Riaz sparking enmity between the two communities.
