KARACHI: Young man hammered to death

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Nov 6: A young man was hammered to death allegedly by a friend of his in the Sohrab Goth area on Monday.

Police said the incident occurred in Hasan Noman Colony, a shanty locality.

Initial police investigations suggested that Abdul Shakoor was harboring suspicion that his wife and his friend Muhammad Ahmed had developed illicit relationship.

Police said Abdul Shakoor scaled into the house of Muhammad Ahmed on early Monday morning and crushed his head repeatedly with a blunt object. He was later arrested by the police.

SNATCHINGS: At least 29 vehicles and 73 mobile phones were snatched or stolen in the city on Monday.

Police said 17 cars and eight motorcycles were stolen while four motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint.

Thirty-four cell phones were snatched on Monday while the same number was stolen, and five were missing.

A senior journalist was deprived of her car (ALF-937) in DHA on Monday morning.

Nargis Khanum had parked her car in the parking area around her residence in Phase IV. She found her car missing from the parking area the next day.

After failing to get a satisfactory reply from the watchman of the compound, she lodged an FIR at the police station.
