Three killed as car falls into canal

OKARA, Nov 4: Three persons, including a minor, drowned while five others sustained injuries when their car fell into Lower Bari Doaab Canal on Saturday afternoon. Police said one of the cars of a marriage procession from Toba Tek Singh fell into the canal in a bid to save a dog.

Sajid Ali (22), Muhammad Adnan (25), and Jehan Zeb (5) drowned while five persons who sustained injuries were shifted to the DHQ hospital where one of them, Ghulam Farid, was stated to be in critical condition.

STRIKE: The District Bar Association observed a complete strike against the brutal killings of 83 innocent students of a religious seminary in Bajaur Agency.

The lawyers also condemned registration of a `false’ case against advocate Syed Ali Ikram Gillani at the behest of his opponents.

No lawyer appeared in the courts.
