KARACHI, Nov 2: The fifth edition of HBL Inter-school Cricket Championship will be inaugurated at National Stadium on Monday (Nov 6) with 32 teams in fray, the Pakistan Seniors Cricket Board (PSCB) announced Thursday.
Habib Bank is putting rupees half a million to sponsor this grass-root level tournament. Teams are divided in eight groups of four teams each and one top team from each pool will advance into the quarter-finals.
Matches in league rounds will be of 40 overs per side while semi-finals and the final will be of 50 overs.
All participating teams will take part in march-past and colourful opening ceremony on the inaugural day.Following are participating teams:
Group ‘A’: APWA GBSS Korangi, MID Asia Foundation School, GBSS New Karachi, SMS Grammar School.
Group ‘B’: Zahoor School, FF Public School, Pak Folks Academy, Public School Sir Syed Town.
Group ‘C’: Zeeshan School Muslim Town, Shaheen Cambridge School, Royal Academy, GBSS Crescent Grammar.
Group ‘D’: GBSS Nazimabad No 3, Muslim GBSS Dastagir, GBSS Hasrat Mohani, Central City Grammar School.
Group ‘E’: Beacon House Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Islamia Public School, Bagh-e-Halar School, Nasra School main campus.
Group ‘F’: Zaheer Public School North Nazimabad, Moon Star School Site, Bright Education Center, GBSS Metrovill School.Group ‘G’: St Paul's School, St Patrick's School, Beacon House Kashmir Road, Jenning School.
