LAHORE, Nov 2: Prince Charles and his wife Camilla spent a busy day in the city on Thursday. During their day-long stay in the city, the royal couple visited historical places, Gurdwara Dera Sahib and the Cathedral Church.
On arrival at the mausoleum of great poet Allama Iqbal, the royal couple was received by district nazim Mian Amir. They stood silent there for some time to pay respect to the poet.
Later, the dignitaries visited the Badshahi Masjid where they were impressed by the grandeur of the Mughal architecture.
They also visited the Gurdwara Dera Sahib where they were received by members of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandak Committee.
In the afternoon, the Prince of Wales and his wife visited the Cathedral Church on The Mall.
Bishop Dr Alexander John Malik received the royal couple at the Church. The couple also attended a reception hosted by the bishop.
Earlier, Prince Charles and Camilla were accorded a warm welcome on their arrival in the provincial metropolis.
The royal guests were received at Allama Iqbal International Airport by Governor Khalid Maqbool, Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, Chief Secretary Salman Siddiq and provincial ministers.—APP
