By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Nov 2: Six ships carrying fertiliser, containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Al-Marwah, Johar, oil tankers, Hyundai Stride and Corn Thaikos to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed included APL Osaka, Hyundai Stride, Bunga Terasek, Pacific Emerald and Thor Sofia, while Shalamar, Al-Marwah and Mol Silver Fern are due to sail out on Friday.

Owing to larger handling of the liquid cargo, the total tonnage rose to 0.122m tons comprising 9,549 tons of export cargo including 1,922 tons of rice and 0.113m tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Friday: Maersk Arkansas, Bunga Delima, Mega-2, with containers, Vigor, with fertiliser and Calmy Coral, with general cargo.
