LAHORE, Nov 1: Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq said on Wednesday the cricket board was free to hold an inquiry into the Oval Test fiasco if it wished to do so. Inzamam, while talking to newsmen after his meeting with PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf, said it was the right of the board to hold a thorough inquiry into The Oval controversy.

The PCB chairman, on Monday, had assured the Senate Committee on Sports that he would hold an inquiry into the Oval saga that resulted in the Test’s forfeiture in England’s favour and saw Inzamam being slapped with a four-match ban by the ICC for bringing the game into disrepute.

Meanwhile, Inzamam contradicted the PCB chairman here by announcing that the selected 15-member squad would attend the training camp in Lahore from Nov 7 for the home series against West Indies.

"Only the 15 players who will be selected for the three-Test series against the West Indies will attend the training camp in Lahore from Nov 7," Inzamam said.

A few hours earlier on Wednesday, the PCB chairman at a press conference said the chief selector would announce 20 players to attend the camp from Nov 7 for the West Indies series.
