Kenyan tea prices mixed

NAIROBI, Nov 1: Prices of Kenyan tea were mixed at this week’s auction with better quality trickling into the market and buyers stocking up ahead of winter, brokers and buyers said.

Best BPls sold at $2.26-$2.83 per kg compared with $2.28-$2.59 at last week’s auction. Best PF1s changed hands at $2.00-$2.13 from the previous auction’s $1.97-$2.15 per kg.

Kenya's tea production rose by 8.7 per cent in the third quarter to 75m kg from 69m kg in the same period last year.—Reuters
