EDF board approves Rs65.37m for projects

ISLAMABAD, Nov 1: The Board of Administrators of Export Development Fund (EDF) on Wednesday approved Rs65.37 million for implementation of the trade policy initiatives for increasing export of traditional products.

Chairing the board meeting Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan also reviewed the implementation status of the earlier decisions and progress regarding the ongoing schemes financed from EDF.

The board approved the budget of Rs45.37 million of the Pakistan Horticulture Export and Development Board (PHDEB). It also directed to the PHDEB to intensify the efforts for increasing export of fruits and vegetable to non-traditional markets and appreciated the successful introduction of kinno in Russia. The annual budget of Rs20m was also approved for the Pakistan School of Fashion Design, Lahore.
