Over 200 golfers to compete at Garrison Open

LAHORE, Oct 31: More than 200 golfers, including 70 professionals, will compete in the three-day Lahore Garrison Open championship at the Garrison course from Friday. Brig Raza Zafeer, president Lahore Garrison Golf and Country Club, told a press conference on Tuesday that top professional golfers including Mohammad Munir, Shabbir Iqbal, Imdad Hussain, Shahid A. Khan, Matloob Ahmed, Mohammad Siddique and Mohammad Tariq had confirmed their entries for the competition carrying a total cash prize of Rs350,000.

Besides professionals the players will contest in the amateurs (three-day), senior amateurs (on Saturday), senior professional (on Friday), ladies (Saturday and Sunday), and veterans' category (Sunday).

He said a plan had been chalked out to further improve the facilities for the golfers at the club.
