Inquiry completes

KHAIRPUR, Oct 31: A team headed by the DIG Jail, Sukkur region, has completed its inquiry into an alleged escape plan by four under-trail prisoners from Sukkur jail. Meanwhile, the prisoners, Taj Wali, Zaheer Hussain Shah, Daud Khan and Shams Afridi were shifted to the central jail, Khairpur from Sukkur central jail-I.

One Shams Afridi, an accused under going trial in narcotics case, was confined in Sukkur central jail for about four years without any trial. He, along with others, planned to escape from the jail.

All of them belong to NWFP.

In a related development, the Superintendent of Central Jail, Khairpur, Pir Shabbir Jan Sarhandi, was given additional charge of Sukkur central jail-I after suspension of superintendent of Sukkur Central Jail-I, Gulzar Ahmed Channa and other officials.
