KARACHI, Oct 31: The Islami Jamiat Talaba on Tuesday observed protest day in colleges and universities and other educational institutions of the city against the US bombardment on a seminary in Bajaur Agency in which 82 innocent people were martyred.
IJT activists took out protest rallies and staged demonstrations in various colleges and universities including Karachi University, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, DJ Science College, SM Science College, Abdullah Haroon College, Islamia Science College and Government College of Technology and various other institutions.
Holding placards and banners, protestors shouted slogans against the government and the US. They also burnt US flag in protest.
Addressing the demonstration, speakers condemned the attack on seminary and termed it an attack on sovereignty of Pakistan.
They said that the US and her allies were trying to enslave Muslims through aggression adding that their dream could never become true.
They said that the government had become the slaves of US and obeying their each and every order.
They alleged that the federal government and military forces were responsible for martyrdom of innocent children as the US army could not carried out attack without their permission.
Meanwhile, an emergency meeting of IJT Karachi Shura was held here to discuss the current situation of the country especially the incident of Bajaur Agency.
The meeting condoled the death of maddarsah students and decided that IJT would soon lodge a massive protest drive in the city against the continuous US aggression in the border areas of Pakistan.—PPI
