KARACHI: MBBS suppl results declared

KARACHI, Oct 31: The examinations department of Karachi University on Tuesday announced results of second professionals MBBS Supplementary Examination 2006. According to a KU notification, the candidates with following seat numbers were declared passed: 41007, 41032, 41043, 41046, 41069, 41101, 41106, 41107, 41117, 41119, 41120, 41122, 41131, 41142, 41147, 41149, 41151, 41152, 41155, 41164, 41168, 41177, 41179, 41203, 41205, 41207, 41212, 41235, 41302, 41306, 41309 and 41335.

Out of total 43 students registered with the examination department, 32 passed the exam. The pass percentage remained 74.42 percent.

BS admissions:: The process of admission in BS Actuarial Science and Risk Management will commence from Nov 7 with issuance of admission forms from Jubilee Gate of Karachi University.

The last date of submission of duly filled admission form is Nov 15 at the UBL counter. The admission test will be held on Nov 18 at 2:30pm in statistics department.

Moot: The Karachi University Arts Faculty in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission is organising a two-day international conference on “Qualitative research in developing countries: opportunities and challenges” from Nov 3.

The conference aims at providing researchers working within the qualitative paradigm a platform to share their experiences and discuss opportunities and challenges in using this research method in the socio-cultural and research context of developing countries with special reference to Pakistan. The dean of arts faculty, Dr Muhammad Shamsuddin, will present the welcome address.

KU Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Pirzada Qasim will preside over the conference, while Prof (Dr) Adrian Holiday of Christchurch University, the UK would ad-dress the conference. Dr Fauzia Shamim will be the coordinator.—APP/PPI
