Irrigation infrastructure
ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: The irrigation infrastructure of the NWFP is fast deteriorating because of deferred maintenance plans that have created difficulties for users to obtain increased share of water in the province.
The federal government has approved Rs8.4 billion emergency funding for the NWFP to help rehabilitate its crumbling irrigation system, especially relating to water distribution structures, replacement of gates at head regulators, and the capacity building of the earth-moving machinery pool.
