By Our Correspondent

TORONTO, Oct 29: Rallies and marches were held in several Canadian cities on Saturday to press for the withdrawal of Canadian troops from Afghanistan.

Anti-war rallies began in the morning in Toronto, Hamilton and Halifax. Protests were also held in Montreal, Vancouver, Quebec City, Calgary and other cities. Protesters in Halifax carried a large banner that read “you can’t plant war and expect to harvest peace.”
