TAXILA, Oct 29: Over 4,000 Sikh pilgrims, scheduled to arrive on Monday, will now visit Hassanabdal on November 6 after attending the 537th birth anniversary celebrations of the Sikh religion founder, Baba Guru Nanak Dev, at Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib.
Sources in Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) and Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee (GPC) on Sunday confirmed the change in schedule.
The pilgrims, including 3,000 from India and over 1,000 from Pakistan and other parts of the world, would be in Hassanabdal city on the last leg of their visit, instead of the first one.
The sources said according to the new programme, the Sikh yatrees would arrive at Gurdwara Janam Asthan on November 2, where three-day festivities would begin on November 3 and the pilgrims would bring out the Palki on November 5 to mark the end of the festival.
The Palki would also be carried through other seven adjacent gurdwaras — Paiti Sahib, Palia Sahib, Tambu Sahib, Panjhvin Padshahi, Chehnvin Padshahi, Salji Sahib and Giyara Sahib.
