KARACHI: Sindh without government, says JUP

KARACHI, Oct 29: Shah Faridul Haq, chief of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan’s Supreme Council has said that there is no government in Sindh as certain groups have formed a coalition and have been fighting only to protect their own individual interests.

In a statement here on Sunday, Prof Haq alleged that peace in Karachi and Hyderabad had been destroyed under a conspiracy hatched by the self-exiled leadership of a party.

“The crime rate in Karachi has shot up to an alarming level, but those at the helms of affairs are engaged in gaining popularity through press briefings and announcements of rewards for police,” he observed.

The situation could be gauged from the fact that about 10,000 cell-phones and 1,000 cars had been taken away by armed men or thieves in Karachi during the month of Ramazan alone, he argued.—PPI
