Three robbers arrested after encounter

TOBA TEK SINGH, Oct 27: Pirmahal police arrested three alleged robbers after an encounter at Mauza Kohal Kalan on Tuesday night. Police said the robbers had forced their entry into the house of farmer Zahoor. He and his family raised an alarm and the neighbours besieged the house and informed police.

The robbers started firing on the police party and police returned the compliment as a result of which one of the robbers, Mansab Gadhi of Chak 187 GB, suffered injuries. Police also arrested his accomplices Irfan and Banaras Khan.

Mansab was admitted to the DHQ hospital in critical condition.

YOUTH DIES: Amer, 12, died on Tuesday night in Chak 327 JB Bhalair when his cousin Haq Nawaz started firing in jubilation on the sighting of moon.

However, police have registered a murder case against Haq Nawaz.

He was laid to rest in a local graveyard on Wednesday.
