‘Dengue’ patient in BVH

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 24: A youngster suspected of having dengue fever was brought to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) on Tuesday. Danish (22) who was suffering from high fever and stomach pain was brought from Ahmedpur East. He was shifted to an isolated room from the emergency ward.

His father Khadim Husain said his son worked in a private company in Karachi where he fell ill. He came from Karachi on Friday and since then he was running high fever.

A junior doctor, Yasir, who was attending the patient on Tuesday, said that for the time-being the patient was being provided supportive treatment. He said blood samples of Danish had been dispatched to Karachi in the Agha Khan laboratory for analysis and confirmation of dengue fever. He said that the result of these samples would be available on Nov 3.

The parents of Danish were were contemplating to take him back to Karachi for his admission to the Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre for regular treatment.
