KHAIRPUR, Oct 24: Eidul Fitr was celebrated in Gambat taluka on Tuesday and Eid prayers were offered in the Jamia Masjid Dargah Noorpur. Maulvi Huzoor Ahmed Sain led the prayers.

A large number of people from adjoining areas offered Eid prayers.

The followers of the Dargah Noorpur Sharif in Faizabad Colony in Khairpur also celebrated Eidul Fitr and offered Eid prayers on Tuesday.

The chief Khalifa of the Dargah Noorpur, Mohammad Siddiq, told Dawn on telephone that the Eidul Fitr moon had been sighted in Ratodero and Karampur areas on Monday and, therefore, they decided to celebrate Eid on Tuesday.

He said that they did not follow the decision of the Ruet-i-Hilal committee or any radio and television announcement but they took the decision on the basis of the sighting of the moon.

OUR LARKANA CORRESPONDENT ADDS: Eidul Fitr was celebrated in Larkana and Ratodero on Tuesday. Eid prayers were offered in the Ghaffari mosque in Larkana where around 200 disciples of the Dargah Sharif Noorpur offered Eid prayers.

Reports reaching here from Sajjan Joyo and Sher Mohammed Joyo villages in Ratodero taluka said the followers of the Dargah celebrated Eid on Tuesday.
