MOHALI, Oct 23: Pakistan's bowling coach Waqar Younis said his depleted bowling attack had firepower to deliver goods in the ongoing Champions Trophy.
He also said he had asked his bowlers to concentrate more on bowling right line than anything else.
“We have seen so far that wickets are behaving slow and turning and teams are thinking in terms of playing more spinners.
''Our effort will be that our bowlers should bowl a controlled line,” Waqar said when asked about his team's strategy for games against New Zealand and South Africa to be played at Mohali.
Former bowling great expressed confidence in his bowlers Abdul Razzaq and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan delivering goods in absence of key pacemen Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif.
Waqar admitted though that Naved's “confidence had been shaken somewhat” after outing against Sri Lanka. But team had been backing him to help him find his rhythm.
He said team's batting line-up was good despite missing services of experienced Inzamam-ul Haq.
On Mohali wicket, he said track has always played good. “We have been practising at other ground (Sector 16 cricket stadium). We will go there later and see what wicket looks like.”—Agencies
