Three murdered in Lahore

LAHORE, Oct 23: Three people were murdered in the city on Monday. A kiln worker was axed to death in Kot Lakhpat area on Monday morning.

Faqir Husain told this reporter at the city mortuary that his neibhour Amanat Ali, 40, a resident of Gujjar Colony, had admonished Nikka Gujjar, Saffak Chaddo and others who abused the people after drinking a couple of days ago.

They exchanged hot words and Nikka, Saffak and their accomplices attacked Amanat, a father of six children, with axes and iron rods.

Police have registered a case against Saffak, Nikka, Akram and Fida on the complaint of Javed, the deceased’s son.

Three unidentified people shot dead a labour in Hanjarwal on Sunday night.

Shahzad said he, Nawaz, 25, and Shaukat were present in their quarter at Thokar Niaz Baig at around midnight when three people, equipped with pistols and a club, came there. They started beating him and Shaukat. In the meantime, Nawaz came to their rescue and one of them opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

Shahzad said they had been living together for the last three years and Nawaz had no enmity with any other.

Nawaz, a resident of district Sheikhupura, had been working at a factory for the last 10 years.

The body of an unidentified young man was found in the Manga Mandi area on Monday.

Police said the body was found near Honda Atlas Company with ink marks on his thumbs. They suspected that some one might killed him after taking thumb impression on papers.
