Road accident claims 3 lives


KAMRA CANTT, Oct 22: Three persons were killed in a road accident near Sanjwal on Sunday. The accident took place at around 3:45pm when a Rawalpindi- bound pickup collided with a truck loaded with wheat near G.T. Road Sanjwal chowk.

The dead were identified as Najeeb Khan (32), Mohammad Safeer (23) and Jibran (14). The bodies have been handed over to their heirs following postpartum in the District Headquarters hospital Attock.—Online

Staff Reporter from Pindi adds: Three robberies were committed while a house was burgled in different parts of the city on Saturday.

According to police, Maqsood Hussain complained that he was on his way to home when two unidentified persons intercepted him and snatched away Rs4,500 and a cellphone at gunpoint.

In the second incident, Shaheen Abbas was heading towards his house when four unidentified persons riding in a car dragged him inside and robbed him of Rs23,000 and sped away after pushing him out in the Cantonment police area.

Ghulam Qadir lodged a similar complaint with the Waris Khan police saying that he went to Gul Noor market to buy some electronic goods when two motorbike riders held him at gunpoint. They snatched Rs65,000 and a cellphone from him and escaped.

Meanwhile, four unidentified burglars broke into the house of Ghulam Ahmed in RA Bazaar area and snatched Rs135,000 and gold ornaments.
