ISLAMABAD, Oct 22: A 60-bed hospital has been set up by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society in Garhi Habibullah.

The hospital in the town had been destroyed by last year’s earthquake.

The new hospital building is earthquake proof. It has advanced operation theatre, gynaecology and physical therapy centres and wards for men, women and children. The hospital has X-Ray, ultrasound, ECG and other facilities.

An isolation centre has been established for patients with diseases which cannot be treated.

Kuwait’s ambassador said his government had responded immediately after the earthquake to help the affected people.

According to a PTV report, about 60 health centres in Mansehra district were destroyed in the earthquake and tent hospitals were established in the affected areas.—APP
