KHAIRPUR, Oct 22: The superintendent of central jail complained to the district nazim on Saturday that non-supply of water to the jail was leading to prisoners’ protests and quarrels with guards, said an official letter.
The official said that the jail had been receiving irregular water supply for a long time. The administration had made a complaint in this connection to the concerned taluka municipal officer but to no avail though the jail had always paid its water charges regularly.
The situation was leading to protests by the prisoners, he said requesting the nazim ensure restoration of water supply to help avert any untoward situation.—Correspondent
