KARACHI, Oct 22: A peaceful Afghanistan guarantees progress and prosperity of Pakistan. This was stated by the ANP Joint Secretary Amin Khattak, who was speaking at an Iftar party in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town. He said that Taliban were not the product of Pakhtoon society but the guest of our establishment.

Regretting that in the name of Taliban, Pakhtoons were being presented before the world as terrorists. He said that the government policies had failed to deliver, particularly on the internal front where surging prices had broken the back of the common man.

He pointed out that throughout the world it was a common practice that on the eve of religious festivities the prices of essential items were reduced so that maximum people could join the celebration but in our country even on the occasion of Eid the prices were raised making the essential items beyond the access of common man.

Mr Khattak recalled that during the days of past rulers poor man used to express gratitude to Allah for having “Dal-Roti” but the present rulers had made the price of Dal unaffordable to the poor man as it was available at the rate of Rs70 per kg.

He said that the ANP was the only party which since the creation of Pakistan had not become part of any dictatorial regime.
