KARACHI: 120 fined for overcharging

KARACHI, Oct 22: The magistrates of the city government on Saturday imposed a fine of Rs0.234 million on 120 shopkeepers for overcharging and sent one profiteer to jail for five days.

During the city government's campaign against profiteering, a fine of Rs8,050 was imposed on 22 vegetable sellers, Rs6,350 on 22 fruit sellers, Rs9,120 on 28 milk sellers, Rs12,500 on meat sellers, Rs89,350 fine on shopkeepers and Rs27,050 on others.—PPI
