PESHAWAR, Oct 21: The NWFP government has formed two teams to investigate the Friday’s bomb blast. “We will … not spare them. Taking the lives of innocent and poor people is neither a humanitarian act nor condoned by the religion,” he said while addressing an emergency meeting here after arriving from Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
The two teams would be headed by Additional Inspector-General Police (Investigation) Fayyaz Toru and SSP (Investigation) Qazi Jamil.
Mr Durrani ordered the law-enforcement agencies to remain alert and to take stern action against terrorists.
Senior Minister Sirajul Haq, Information Minister Asif Iqbal Daudzai, the chief secretary, the home secretary, the IGP and other officials also attended the meeting.
The chief minister said that it was incumbent on the law-enforcement agencies to take effective pre-emptive measures.
He said that the law-enforcment agencies should meet once a week and share information.
The meeting decided to accelerate the bomb blast investigation and create public awareness about terrorist activities through a comprehensive campaign. The meeting urged health department to ensure that Peshawar hospitals were able to cope with any emergency situation.
Meanwhile, doctors said that most of the people injured in the blast had been sent home. Two of the five dead bodies had been handed over to their families after conducting an autopsy but three others were still unidentified.
