Newspapers to observe one Eid holiday


KARACHI,Oct 21: Secretary General All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) announced on Saturday that APNS member publications will observe one non-publication day on account of Eid-ul-Fitr. Consequently, there will be no issue of any newspaper publication, morning or evening, on day following Eid.

He said that the decision was taken in consultation with Akhbar Farosh Federation. He advised members to strictly comply with the decision and ensure that no issue of any newspaper publication, morning or evening, is brought Out on day following Eid.

The schedule of Eid holiday is:

— In case Eid falls on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, there will be no issue of newspapers, morning and evening on Wednesday, October 25. However, evening newspapers may bring out their editions with morning dailies on Tuesday, October 24, 2006.

— In case Eid falls on Wednesday, October 25, there will no issue of newspapers, morning as well as evening, on Thursday, October 26. However, evening newspapers may bring out their editions with morning dailies on Wednesday, October 25, 2006.—PPI
