Autopsy confirms murder

KASUR, Oct 21: The post-mortem on a youth on Saturday confirmed that he was strangled. The body of Mehtab, 25, of Ratnaywala village in Ganda Singhwala was exhumed on the request of his family to ascertain the exact cause of his death.

Mehtab was reportedly crushed under the wheels of his own tractor when he fell asleep on the moving vehicle a couple of weeks ago.

His family suspected that Ijaz Ahmad and others had killed Mehtab. They moved a court which ordered exhumation of the body to determine the cause of death.

Ganda Singhwala police have registered a case against five people without arrest.

BEATEN UP: Angry villagers thrashed a Wapda team on Saturday at Matta village, Raja Jang.

According to Raja Jang SDO, when he went to check the meter of Nazir Ahmad and others in the village along with his team, the villagers, including women, thrashed them.

The villagers, on the other hand, complained of excessive billing and failure to redress their grievances.

Police have registered a case against Nazir Ahmad and others.
