JACOBABAD, Oct 21: Bandits killed a cleaner of a coach and seriously injured six others including a driver when they put up resistance to their attempt to rob them near Baghan turn on National Highway in the jurisdiction of Karampur police station of Kandhkot on Saturday.

Reports reaching here said that 13 bandits shot dead Nadeem, a 22-year-old cleaner and seriously injured six others including a driver, Abdul Subhan, when they put up resistance.

They robbed thousands of rupees in cash, watches and gold ornaments from the passengers after raising blockades across the National Highway. They then fled to the katcha area with their loot. In the meanwhile, a police mobile had also reached the scene but could not control the crime.

The injured were rushed to the hospital. The cleaner’s body was kept at the hospital for autopsy.

The passengers staged a protest demonstration after the robbery and raised slogans against police.
