Anti-terror campaign to continue, says VCOAS


PESHAWAR, Oct 21: Vice-Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) General Ahsan Salim Hayat has said that terrorism would be defeated at all costs as it threatends the country’s foundations, said an ISPR press release on Saturday.

He was adressing troops during his visit to the South Waziristan Agency.

The VCOAS said that together with the tribesmen, Pakistan Army would aggressively pursue anti-terrorist campaign to ensure a stable and strong Pakistan. General Ahsan Salim Hayat said that sacrifices rendered by officers and men had not only elevated Pakistan’s stature in the comity of the nations but also made Pakistan a safer place to live.

Earlier, on arrival at Wana the Vice-Chief of Army Staff was received by Corps Commander Lt-Gen Mohammed Hamid Khan. He was given briefing by General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Gul Mohammad on the security situation along the Afghan border and the development work undertaken by the Pakistan Army in Fata.

General Hamid informed the VCOAS that with restoration of peace, work on the development projects has started with full swing and all uplift works would be completed within stipulated time.

STUDENTS’ DEMO: Students and teachers of a Charsadda school took out a procession against aerial firing here on Saturday.

Town Nazim Haji Mohammad Sharif and Town Naib Nazim Israrullah Advocate led the walk.

The participants were carrying various placards and banners inscribed with slogans against aerial firing.

The walk started from Shah Alam bridge and concluded at Khazana police station.—APP
